Belloso Motor Co

Belloso Motor Company is fielding two entries in the Progressive Automotive X-PRIZE Competition which is a special automotive race open to vehicles which are capable of going at least 100 miles per gallon of gasoline or its energy equivalent, capable of being marketable at a projected rate of at least 10,000 units per year, and capable of passing current emissions and safety standards. One entry is in the mainstream category for four-passenger vehicles, and the second entry is in the alternative category for two-passenger vehicles.

Both entries use our exclusive Dual Engine Technology to improve fuel efficiency and to maximize acceleration performance. Both vehicles feature our exclusive Automobile Protective System and Rear View Monitoring System to improve safety. Both vehicles are constructed in accordance with our patented lightweight modular design to maximize the structural integrity of the vehicle, to reduce vehicular weight and to reduce manufacturing cost.

Our entry in the mainstream category, the FAUSTINA, is expected to weigh about 1350 lbs. It currently has a 38 HP accelerator engine and a 24 HP cruiser engine. It is calculated to accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in about 11 seconds, and to travel up to 110 miles per gallon of gas. Other engine choices are under consideration to further improve acceleration and fuel efficiency.

Our entry in the alternative class, the FIORA, is expected to weigh about 1200 lbs. It currently has a 24 HP accelerator engine, and a 24 HP cruiser engine. It is calculated to accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in about 12 seconds and to travel up to 115 miles per gallon of gas. Other engine options are under consideration.

Each entry will feature our patented extended range CVT transmission with a choice of up to five forward speed ranges, from low to extended overdrive. These vehicles are operated in essentially the same manner as current regular vehicles.
